NDA (National Defence Academy) is a national level exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year. As per the latest official notification on September 24, 2021, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has restarted the NDA (II) application form 2021 for girls. NDA (II) 2021 written test will be held on November 14, 2021, across 75 exam centers for 400 vacant posts. NDA (II) 2021 admit card for the written test will be released in the month of October 2021. This is the first time for women candidates participating in the NDA exam.

NDA Exam: Latest Changes

In the NDA official notification released on September 24, 2021, there is a list of things that have been changed.

  • NDA application form for women opens for the first time in Indian History. Following the Supreme Court’s interim order, UPSC has opened the online application form portal for women candidates.
  • On September 22, 2021, the Honourable Supreme Court ordered the commission to allow candidates on the November 14 exam. Women candidates are not required to pay fees for their application for NDA Exam.

NDA (II) Notification 2021

On September 24, 2021, the Union Public Service Commission released a corrigendum that basically denotes that unmarried women candidates are now allowed to take part in NDA & NA exam.

NDA Eligibility Criteria 2021

For NDA 2021, the aspirants have to meet certain multi-level eligibility criteria. Here are the eligibility criteria for NDA 2021 exam:

NDA Age Limit and Marital Status

For NDA (II) 2021, both male and female candidates should not be born earlier than January 2, 2003, and not later than January 1, 2006. On the other hand, both men and women must be unmarried to apply NDA 2 exam.

NDA Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

The educational requirements for the NDA exam are different for different academies. Therefore, the aspirants should check the educational qualification:

NDA Application Form 2021

NDA Exam is conducted twice a year. The notifications for NDA (I) and NDA (II) are released separately. NDA application form for Women was released on September 24, 2021, on the official website and the deadline to submit the NDA application form is October 08, 2021.

The application fees of the exam are INR 100/- for the general and OBC category while SC, ST candidates are exempted from fee payment.

How to Apply Online for NDA Exam 2021

  • Step 1: Visit the official website and click on “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC“.
  • Step 2: Click on “Click Here for PART I” and read the instructions carefully and click on “Yes”.
  • Step 3: On page 1 fill in the details such as name, gender, date of birth, parents’ name, nationality, etc., and click on “continue”.
  • Step 4: On page 2, select the numbers from 1 to 4 or mark ‘0’ if you do not want to give any preference. Those who are from Sainik/Military School or Son of JCO/NCO/Other Rank Officer must fill pages 3 & page 4.
  • Step 5: Pay the application fees as per your choice.
  • Step 6: Select the examination centre and upload Photograph and Signature
  • Step 7: Download the application form and take a printed copy for future reference.

UPSC NDA Form Fees

To complete the application process, candidates must pay the required UPSC NDA Application Fee. The payment can be made both online and offline. Applicants can pay their fees in any branch of SBI by cash or through net banking, Visa/ MasterCard/ Rupay Credit/ Debit Card.

Those paying the NDA form fees by cash should print the system-generated pay-in-slip during Part-II registration and deposit the fee.

NDA Pattern

UPSC NDA Exam Pattern 2021

The NDA exam is conducted in the conventional pen and paper form and has multiple-choice questions. There will be two papers in the NDA exam – Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT).

NDA Result

UPSC NDA Result 2021

UPSC NDA 2021: The UPSC will release the NDA Result 2021 for the 2nd session in the month of December 2021 on the UPSC official website as the written test has been scheduled for November 14, 2021.

NDA result 2021 for the NDA 1 exam has been released on June 30, 2021. The NDA 1 2021 exam was conducted on April 18, 2021. The candidates who will qualify the NDA written exam will be summoned for the next stage of selection i.e. SSB interview within a span of 20 days of the declaration of the NDA 2021 result

NDA Selection Process 2021 – UPSC NDA 2021

The selection process in the National Defense Academy is a two-stage process. Stage 1 is the written test while Stage-2 is the SSB interview stage. The complete recruitment process in the NDAs judged based on marks scored out of 900 collectively in both stages of recruitment.

After the declaration of NDA Results 2021, qualified candidates will have to register themselves at joinindianarmy. nic. within two weeks. Allotment of selection centres and dates will then be notified on the registered email ID.

SSB Interview 2021 – UPSC NDA 2021

SSB Interview comprises two phases – Phase 1 (OIR and PPDT) and Phase 2- (Interview, Group Tasks, Psychology Test, and Conference). After stage-2 is completed, a final merit list is generated by the UPSC which gives the final recruited candidates.

NDA 2021 Document Verification

After a personal interview round the eligible candidates will have to appear for the verification round. The qualified candidates must bring the required original documents along with 1 set of Photostat of the required documents at the Services Selection Centre (SSC).

The candidates have to score the minimum qualifying marks set by the authorities to move to the next round. The NDA cutoff depends on many factors like the difficulty level of the paper, the number of candidates who appeared, the category of the candidates, etc.

How to Prepare for NDA 2021

UPSC NDA 2021: For NDA preparation, aspirants should follow the below-mentioned preparation tips for securing a good score in the exam:

  1. First, you should have clear and detailed knowledge about the exam pattern, types of questions, and the subjects.
  2. To get a good score in Mathematics, the aspirants should have in-depth knowledge of Algebra, trigonometry, matrices, statistics, calculus, etc. All the questions cover the concepts of class 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 standards, NCERT Books.
  3. You can also refer to NDA study materials available for every subject; where all topics and concepts are discussed in summarised form. In this way, the syllabus can be completed in a short time and you don’t have to go through multiple books for completing a single subject.
  4. The GAT consists of multiple subjects and these are General Science, Geography, Chemistry, Current Affairs, and History. As the General Ability is more theory-based, candidates are required to revise it comparatively in the NDA mathematics section.

  6. Do not forget to solve NDA previous year papers and take mock tests as much as possible.
