    Eligibility Criteria for NDA 2025

    Nationality for NDA

    As per NDA 2025 eligibility requirements, applicants must be Indian citizens to apply for the upcoming examination. However, non-citizens of India who want to apply for the exam must meet the UPSC NDA eligibility criteria.

    • Citizen of India
    • Subject of Nepal
    • Subject of Bhutan
    • Tibetan refugees who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement
    • Person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire & Ethiopia, or Vietnam, with the intention of permanent settlement.

    Age Limit

    According to the NDA eligibility rules, only unmarried male and female candidates can apply. They must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years old.

    Qualification, 12th Percentage & Marks

    Air Force & Naval wings of NDA and 10+2 Cadet entry scheme at INA

    Candidate must be appearing/cleared his class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics.

    Note:

    • Those who are appearing in Class 12 or equivalent examination can also apply for the exam.
    • The candidates who are appearing in the Class 11 exam are not eligible to apply for the NDA examination.

    NDA Physical Eligibility

    The candidate must have good physical and mental health and should be free from diseases and disabilities. 

    • Male candidates should have a minimum height of 157 cm, while female candidates should have a minimum height of 152 cm. (Note: For the Indian Air Force, the minimum height requirement is 162.5 cm). 

    There are specific height exceptions for candidates based on their regional origin.

    NDA Eligibility for Pilot

    The physical standards for aspiring pilots in the NDA differ slightly from those applying for other positions. Below are the detailed NDA eligibility 2025 physical standards:

    • Leg Length: Minimum – 99 cms, Maximum – 120 cms
    • Thigh Length: Maximum – 64 cms
    • Sitting Height: Minimum – 81.50 cms, Maximum – 96 cms

    NDA Vision Standards

    • For corrected distance vision, the standard is 6/6 for the better eye and 6/9 for the worse eye.
    • The rules do not permit myopia exceeding 2.5 diopters.
    • Doctors do not permit hypermetropia exceeding 3.5 diopters, including astigmatism

    Stage 2: SSB Interview

    Stage 2 of the NDA selection process includes an interview. The Services Selection Board (SSB) conducts this interview. This applies to all candidates who qualify for NA and NDA posts.

    After passing the written test, candidates get an interview call letter. This letter includes the interview date, time, and place. Further information about the phases of the SSB interview is provided below – 

    Phase 1

    Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIR), Picture, Perception, & Description Test (PP & DT).

    Phase 2

    Interview, GTO (Group Testing Officer) Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conference conducted over a period of 4 days.

    Here are some other important points about the selection process for the SSB Interview:

    • Please be aware that the final recruitment through the NDA selection process will be based on merit. The selection committee will take into account both the written test and interview performance of candidates.
    • Candidates who want to join the Air Force need to pass two tests. They must complete the Pilot Aptitude Test (PAT). They also need to take the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS). Passing both tests is necessary for final selection.
    • The SSB interview process spans a duration of 5 days.
